Lies Around the Holy One
12Ephraim surrounds Me with lies, the house of Israel with deceit; but Judah still walks with God and is faithful to the Holy One.

The last verse of chapter 11 places Ephraim's lies beside Judah's faithfulness. Ephraim surrounds the LORD with lies, while the house of Israel is marked by deceit. Judah, in the verse's comparison, still walks with God and is faithful to the Holy One.
The contrast is striking because the previous verses have remembered the LORD's compassion toward Israel. The God who taught Ephraim to walk and carried the people by cords of kindness also sees the lies surrounding Him now. Compassion does not make deception invisible, and judgment does not erase the possibility of walking faithfully.
Judah's description is therefore a responsibility, not a trophy. If Judah really walks with God, that walk must remain visible in truth and faithfulness when Israel's failure makes comparison tempting. The verse asks the listener to examine a life, not collect a reason to feel superior.
The verse is a hinge between memory and accusation. It does not invite easy pride from Judah. The larger prophecy has already warned Judah not to copy Israel. The proper response to a comparison is not to use another person's failure as proof of our goodness. It is to ask whether our own walk with God is visible in truth and faithfulness.
