Read the Bible together, one passage at a time.

The passage comes first, printed in full, so nothing has to be looked up. Under it are several paragraphs on what the passage says and what it meant to the people in it. Both are written to be read aloud.

Then four questions, each with a suggested answer beneath it. The answers are for whoever is leading, so a difficult question does not halt the reading. Each devotion closes with one thing to carry into the week and a short prayer.

Many also carry a note on the evidence behind the passage: another ancient text that names the same person, a law or custom the scene takes for granted, an object recovered from the right place and period. Where a claim comes from outside the Bible, the source is named.

These devotions are broadly evangelical, and they are written so that families from different traditions can use them together. The about page names the writers behind them and says which questions they deliberately leave open.
