35Early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up and went out to a solitary place to pray.
36Simon and his companions went to look for Him,
37and when they found Him, they said, “Everyone is looking for You!”
38But Jesus answered, “Let us go on to the neighboring towns so I can preach there as well, for that is why I have come.”
39So He went throughout Galilee, preaching in their synagogues and driving out demons.

After the crowded evening in Capernaum, Jesus rises while it is still dark and goes to a solitary place to pray. The attention of the town has not displaced His communion with the Father. Mark records the prayer without telling us its words.
Simon and his companions search for Him. When they find Him, they say that everyone is looking for Him. The need and interest are real, but Jesus’ answer directs them beyond Capernaum: He must preach in the neighboring towns too, because that is why He has come.
So He travels throughout Galilee, preaching in synagogues and driving out demons. His work joins the announcement of God’s kingdom with deliverance from evil. He has not rejected the people He helped; He is carrying the good news to others who also need to hear.
The passage places prayer beside a clear sense of mission. It does not tell us that Jesus discovered His purpose that morning. It shows the Son praying and remaining faithful to the work He has come to do, even when a town’s demand might have kept Him in one place.

Jesus’ prayer belongs within a life crowded with need. We can make room to speak with the Father without treating prayer as time stolen from useful work. Choose a time that is possible in your household, even if it cannot be before dawn.
His decision also challenges the assumption that being wanted settles what we should do next. We may need to share a responsibility, decline an invitation or make time for someone less vocal. Pray for wisdom, consider the people affected and let faithful service matter more than remaining indispensable. Jesus Himself carries His good news beyond the crowd already asking for Him.
Prayer
Father, help us make room for prayer in busy days. Give us wisdom about the needs before us and freedom from the wish to be indispensable. Thank You that Jesus brings His good news beyond the places already welcoming Him. Amen.
