Psalm 67:1-7

Let Your Face Shine

1For the choirmaster. With stringed instruments. A Psalm. A song. May God be gracious to us and bless us, and cause His face to shine upon us, Selah

2that Your ways may be known on earth, Your salvation among all nations.

3Let the peoples praise You, O God; let all the peoples praise You.

4Let the nations be glad and sing for joy, for You judge the peoples justly and lead the nations of the earth. Selah

5Let the peoples praise You, O God; let all the peoples praise You.

6The earth has yielded its harvest; God, our God, blesses us.

7God blesses us, that all the ends of the earth shall fear Him.

Berean Standard Bible

The psalm echoes the blessing that asks God to be gracious, bless His people, and make His face shine on them. But the blessing is not kept for Israel's private comfort. The prayer asks that God's way and salvation be known on earth and among all nations.

The peoples are called to praise God because He judges them fairly and guides them. Justice and guidance make praise credible. God is not merely a tribal advantage; He is the ruler whose care reaches every people.

The earth yields its harvest, and God blesses His people so that the ends of the earth will fear Him. Blessing has a purpose beyond consumption: it should become a witness that draws the world toward reverence.

What This Means for Us

Ask for blessing with open hands. What God gives our household is meant to become hospitality, justice, and a visible witness to His goodness—not a wall around our comfort.

Fair judgment is part of God's light. If we want people to see His face, our own conduct should not make them encounter favoritism or exploitation instead.

Prayer

God, let Your face shine on us and make Your way known through us. Give us blessings we can share, justice we can practice, and lives that help every people see Your goodness. Amen.
