Psalm 93:1-5

The LORD Reigns

1The LORD reigns! He is robed in majesty; the LORD has clothed and armed Himself with strength. The world indeed is firmly established; it cannot be moved.

2Your throne was established long ago; You are from all eternity.

3The floodwaters have risen, O LORD; the rivers have raised their voice; the seas lift up their pounding waves.

4Above the roar of many waters—the mighty breakers of the sea—the LORD on high is majestic.

5Your testimonies are fully confirmed; holiness adorns Your house, O LORD, for all the days to come.

Berean Standard Bible

The LORD reigns, robed in majesty and armed with strength. He established the world so it cannot be moved, and His throne has been established from long ago. God's kingship is not a recent reaction to chaos; it is older than the threats around us.

The rivers have lifted up their voice and the waters have raised their pounding waves. The LORD on high is mightier than the roar of mighty waters. Creation's turbulence is real, but it does not outrank the King.

The psalm ends with God's statutes standing firm and holiness adorning His house forever. Divine rule is not only power over noise; it is trustworthy instruction and a holy presence.

What This Means for Us

Chaos can be loud without being ultimate. Let God's established rule steady you, then do the faithful work available in the place where you live.

Authority is trustworthy when it is joined to holiness and true instruction. Human leaders should be judged by the same connection, not by force alone.

Prayer

Majestic King, steady us when the waters roar. Keep our trust in Your established rule, and make our homes places where holiness and trustworthy instruction are honored. Amen.
