No Other Gospel
6I am amazed how quickly you are deserting the One who called you by the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel—
7which is not even a gospel. Evidently some people are troubling you and trying to distort the gospel of Christ.
8But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be under a curse!
9As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be under a curse!
10Am I now seeking the approval of men, or of God? Or am I striving to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ.

The tone changes immediately. Paul is amazed that the Galatians are turning so quickly from the One who called them by the grace of Christ to a different gospel. He does not say they are merely exploring a second helpful perspective. They are changing the center of their faith.
Paul says there is no other gospel, but some people are troubling them and trying to distort the gospel of Christ. The issue is not that every Christian question is a threat. The issue is a message that claims to improve the gospel by making Christ's grace dependent on something else.
Paul intensifies the warning. Even if he or an angel from heaven were to preach a gospel contrary to what they received, that messenger would be under God's judgment. Repetition makes the boundary unmistakable. Spiritual impressiveness does not make a contradictory message true.
He asks whether he is seeking the approval of human beings or of God. If he were still trying to please people, he would not be Christ's servant. This is not permission to be rude and call it courage. It is a reminder that faithfulness cannot be measured by applause.
