12“Behold, I am coming soon, and My reward is with Me, to give to each one according to what he has done.
13I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.”
14Blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they may have the right to the tree of life and may enter the city by its gates.
15But outside are the dogs, the sorcerers, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.
16“I, Jesus, have sent My angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the bright Morning Star.”
17The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” Let the one who hears say, “Come!” And let the one who is thirsty come, and the one who desires the water of life drink freely.

Jesus promises to come soon with His reward, giving to each according to what they have done. He is the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. His coming brings an account of our lives before Him.
Those who wash their robes are blessed: they have access to the tree of life and may enter the city by its gates. Outside remain the dogs, sorcerers, sexually immoral, murderers, idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices falsehood. The city's life is holy. Earlier, in Revelation 7:14, the white robes were washed in the Lamb's blood; cleansing is received through Him.
Jesus says He sent His angel with this testimony for the churches. He is the Root and Offspring of David and the bright Morning Star. The promised King is the One speaking, and His words are for His people to hear.
The Spirit and bride say, Come, and the hearer is called to join them. The thirsty person is invited to come and take the water of life freely. The final invitation is generous and urgent. The Lord who judges also offers life without cost; His hearers should come to Him in their need.

Prayer
Jesus, You are the beginning and the end, the promised King, and the Morning Star. Forgive our falsehood, meet us in our thirst, and make our household a truthful and welcoming witness to Your free gift of life. Amen.
