My Family Devotion

Every passage, in order

Revelation

54 devotions across 22 chapters, covering 404 verses.

Revelation is a book of worship, warning, endurance, and hope. John receives a vision of Jesus Christ for churches living under pressure, and the vision moves from the risen Lord among the lampstands to the throne, the Lamb, judgment, and the new creation. Its images are large, but its first audience is concrete: ordinary congregations are called to remain faithful, refuse false worship, and overcome through patient witness.

This book should be read slowly. Some images are explained in the text; others remain mysterious, and Christians have reached different conclusions about their sequence and meaning. These devotions will distinguish what John sees, what the passage itself explains, and what is a responsible application. They will not set dates, identify current politicians or nations as prophetic villains, or turn a disputed interpretation into a test of Christian loyalty.

Revelation includes persecution, death, war, illness, deception, economic pressure, judgment, and the lake of fire. Those passages deserve honesty without fear-based control. A difficult image is not permission to shame a child, terrorize a grieving person, target a people group, excuse violence, or diagnose someone's suffering as punishment. Seek protection, medical care, accountability, and wise pastoral help where real harm is present.

The book also gives its readers a throne, a Lamb who was slain, prayers heard at the altar, a multitude from every nation, and a city where God dwells with his people. Its final hope is not a puzzle solved by cleverness. It is God's presence, the end of death and pain, the healing of the nations, and the invitation for the thirsty to come freely. Read Revelation as a whole: let its warning make the family truthful about power and worship, and let its hope make the family patient, merciful, and awake.
