The Spirit Searches All Things
6Among the mature, however, we speak a message of wisdom—but not the wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing.
7No, we speak of the mysterious and hidden wisdom of God, which He destined for our glory before time began.
8None of the rulers of this age understood it. For if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
9Rather, as it is written: “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no heart has imagined, what God has prepared for those who love Him.”
10But God has revealed it to us by the Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.
11For who among men knows the thoughts of man except his own spirit within him? So too, no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.
12We have not received the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us.
13And this is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom, but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words.
14The natural man does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God. For they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.
15The spiritual man judges all things, but he himself is not subject to anyone’s judgment.
16“For who has known the mind of the Lord, so as to instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ.

Paul does speak a message of wisdom, but it is not the wisdom of this age or its rulers, who are coming to nothing. Christian maturity is not an elite code reserved for people with the right education. It is God's hidden wisdom, once concealed and now revealed for the glory of those who love Him.
The rulers of the age did not understand this wisdom. If they had, Paul says, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. The cross exposes a tragic mismatch: people can possess authority, learning, and confidence while still failing to recognize God's work directly in front of them.
Paul cites what no eye has seen and no ear has heard, what no human mind has conceived, but God has prepared for those who love Him. He is not saying Christians must abandon thinking. He is describing a gift that human discovery alone cannot reach. God has revealed it through the Spirit, who searches even the depths of God.
The Spirit knows the thoughts of God and makes them known to believers. Paul contrasts the spirit of the world with the Spirit from God, so that Christians may understand what God has freely given. Spiritual truth is not received by force or status; it is received through God's gracious revelation.
Paul says the spiritual person judges all things but is not subject to judgment by merely human standards. That does not make Christians unaccountable or authorize them to dismiss every correction. It means the Spirit gives a different frame for understanding reality. The Christian is being taught to have the mind of Christ.
