The Dragon's Last Rebellion

7When the thousand years are complete, Satan will be released from his prison,
8and will go out to deceive the nations in the four corners of the earth—Gog and Magog—to assemble them for battle. Their number is like the sand of the seashore.
9And they marched across the broad expanse of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city. But fire came down from heaven and consumed them.
10And the devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur, into which the beast and the false prophet had already been thrown. There they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

When the thousand years are ended, Satan is released from his prison. He goes out to deceive the nations at the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, and gathers them for battle. Their number is like the sand of the sea.
They march over the broad earth and surround the camp of the saints and the beloved city. Fire comes down from heaven and consumes them. The final rebellion is enormous in appearance but cannot overcome God's protection.
The devil who deceived the nations is thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur where the beast and false prophet are. They will be tormented day and night forever and ever. Deception ends not through negotiation with the dragon but through God's decisive judgment.
The final release does not threaten God's ability to defeat the dragon. The gathered nations, the beloved city, and the devil's end move quickly from apparent danger to decisive judgment. Evil may look vast, but the vision refuses to give it the last word or the power to decide the future.
Do not use the names Gog and Magog to vilify a modern ethnic group or nation. They belong here within a final vision, and no people today should be branded by them. When fear tells your family that evil has finally won, answer with the ending the text gives, then do the good that is actually yours to do today.
