25Now to Him who is able to strengthen you by my gospel and by the proclamation of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery concealed for ages past
26but now revealed and made known through the writings of the prophets by the command of the eternal God, in order to lead all nations to the obedience that comes from faith—
27to the only wise God be glory forever through Jesus Christ! Amen.

Paul closes by praising God, who is able to strengthen the Roman believers according to his gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ. The message concerns the revelation of the mystery that was kept secret for long ages.
The mystery is now made known through the prophetic writings and, by the command of the eternal God, is made known to all nations so that they may come to the obedience of faith. The gospel is public news, not a secret reserved for a spiritual elite.
Paul gives glory to the only wise God through Jesus Christ forever. The Lord who planned and revealed this salvation is also the One able to strengthen those who receive it.
The obedience that comes from faith appeared at the beginning of the letter, in Romans 1:5. It appears again here, with the nations in view. God's purpose is fulfilled in people who trust Christ and obey Him. Faith receives what He has done, and obedience follows as its fruit.
The gospel remains the means by which God strengthens believers. We do not leave Christ's death, resurrection and mercy behind once we have begun the Christian life. The same message supports confession, hope, patient service and perseverance. Paul's final praise directs us to the wise God whose saving work can sustain all of these.
